Pursuit In Logan County Leads To Arrest

A pursuit on Dunmor Deerlick Road in Logan County led to the arrest of a Powderly man early Thursday morning.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office reports a deputy and K-9 unit tried to make a traffic stop on a pickup for a traffic violation around 12:30am on Dunmor Deerlick Road. However, the driver, later identified as 46-year old Loren Kirk fled through a field, then exited the vehicle and fled on foot through nearby woods. Deputies reportedly found Kirk hiding in some brush and he was taken into custody. Deputies say Kirk was found to be driving on a suspended license and had an active warrant for his arrest in Muhlenberg County.

Kirk was lodged in the Muhlenberg County Jail charged with 1st Degree Fleeing or Evading Police in a Motor Vehicle, 2nd Degree Fleeing or Evading Police on Foot, Operating on a Suspended License, and numerous other traffic-related violations.
