Safety Checkpoint Nets Two Meth Arrests

Two people were arrested for meth possession and other charges during a traffic safety checkpoint on Fort Campbell Boulevard Saturday.

At 12:01am, state police reports a trooper checked a pickup truck and in which both the driver, 49-year old Tracy Walter of Benton, and his passenger, 27-year old Courtney Walter, of Paris, Tennessee, appeared to be under the influence. Police say the investigation revealed both subjects were under the influence and suspected methamphetamine was discovered during a search of the vehicle.

Both subjects were booked into the Christian County Jail charged with 1st Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. In addition, Tracy Walter was charged with DUI, Failure to Produce Insurance Card and No Registration Receipt, and Courtney Walter was also charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence and Public Intoxication – Controlled Substance (Excludes Alcohol).
