Hopkinsville Man Charged with 4th DUI

Police say a Hopkinsville man was arrested on West Second Street for his 4th DUI Friday night.

Hopkinsville Police report an officer observed 27-year old Shycorian Bailey driving his vehicle on West Second Street at 7pm and weaving from side to side on the roadway. When stopped, police say Bailey exited the vehicle and quickly came toward the officer’s patrol car. The officer reportedly smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on Bailey’s breath, and noticed he had very glassy and red eyes, and that he was highly intoxicated. The officer says Bailey began to get agitated and refused to take Field Sobriety Tests. Police indicate an open can of beer, which was half full was found in Bailey’s vehicle.

According to the report, Bailey was taken into custody for his 4th DUI offense after he was just arrested for his 3rd DUI in March. He was also in possession of his DUI suspended license for the third time.

Bailey was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs 4th or Greater Offense, Driving on a DUI Suspended License 3rd Offense, Display or Possession of Canceled Fictitious Operator’s License, and Possession of an Open Alcoholic Beverage Container In a Motor Vehicle.
