The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has taken over an investigation into what caused the death of more than 1,000 fish in Lake Barkley.
Sources informed the News Edge Thursday morning approximately 1,000 dead fish were found at 7am approximately 400 yards from Moon River Marina. In addition, hundreds more of the same type fish were reportedly found dead at Lake Barkley Dam. Kentucky Fish & Wildlife were reportedly called to the area to investigate.
Late Friday, sources informed us the Corps of Engineers is taking over the investigation to determine what may have killed the fish.
