Keith Brown, of Pike Legal Services and attorney for AT&T, says the tower will be located at 7219 Will Jackson Road on property owned by Craig Banister.

He notes they have national agreements in place that will allow other cell phone providers to use the tower and pay rent to AT&T Mobility, if they choose.

Brown says this tower is short compared to cell towers in the surrounding area.

He notes a very important statistic is the cell tower site sits 667 feet away from the nearest residential structure. Overall, he says it’s a very good site.

In addition, Brown says this cell tower will have an add on that will provide high-speed internet service.

After the presentation, Commission Vice Chair Mike Heffington opened the Public Hearing regarding the cell tower application on Will Jackson Road. There were no public comments for or against the site.

Commission members voted unanimously to approve the AT&T application for the site on Will Jackson Road, which is the fourth new cell tower site approved in the county since November.
