The Christian County District Extension Board may soon make an offer on some property that could see the construction of an agriculture events center. Ag Extension Agent Jay Stone says the district board voted Wednesday morning to begin negotiations for a potential site.

He adds the goal of the board is to have some property under contract by the end of the year.Meanwhile, Stone says the District Board also moved forward with a suggestion by UK College of Agriculture Dean Nancy Cox to possibly hire a county extension manager.

Stone says Christian County is one of less than a dozen counties in the state that could hire an extension manager.
