Attorneys Want Death Penalty Removed In Palmer Murder

Attorneys say they will be asking for the death penalty to be removed in the 2016 Oak Grove murder of 19-year old DeAndre Palmer. 21-year old Leonardo Miller appeared in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday morning with his attorneys Margot Merrill and Robin Irwin. Merrill told Judge John Atkins she was in the process of writing a motion.

right-click to download mp3The judge scheduled a hearing April 25 on the potential motion and the evidence motion she filed. Miller and 20-year old Deqavion James reportedly shot Palmer and then hid him in a closet before eventually dumping his body on the side of Carter Road in Oak Grove, where it was discovered by Oak Grove Police July 20, 2016.
