Two people were rescued from Lake Barkley Tuesday morning after their kayak turned over near the new Barkley bridge on US 68-80. Trigg County Rescue and Forest Service officials and other personnel were dispatched to the scene around 10:00 am.
Shortly after 10:30, emergency personnel reported to Trigg Dispatch that both kayakers had been rescued from the water. Reports indicated both were picked up by a boater and taken to a house near the area.
