Police say a Hopkinsville woman was charged with DUI and wanton endangerment after a single-vehicle wreck on Fort Campbell Boulevard Friday night. Hopkinsville Police report 36-year old Misty Calhoun was driving on the boulevard at 11:30pm when she suddenly swerved left across the southbound lanes in front of an oncoming vehicle driven by Amber Daniel and her passenger, a 12-year old girl. Daniel stated to officers she had to swerve in order to avoid a collision. Calhoun’s vehicle reportedly then struck a curb and then traveled approximately 100 feet and collided with an unoccupied box truck in the parking lot of the Copper Still, as well as a utility pole.

According to police, Calhoun was found sitting on the ground outside the driver’s door and could not stop fidgeting, had slurred speech and was incoherent. She reportedly told officers she had taken Ambien and Seroquel and was on her way to McDonalds for food.

Calhoun was transported by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for what police indicate were two broken bones in her foot.

Calhoun was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs and 2nd Degree Wanton Endangerment.
