Two Charged With Heroin Possession After Traffic Stop

Two people are facing heroin possession charges after a traffic stop in Hopkinsville early Monday morning. Hopkinsville Police report a vehicle driven by 27-year old David Brettschneider, of Cadiz, was stopped around 2:45am on Fort Campbell Boulevard for traveling 50 miles per hour.



During the stop, police reportedly smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle and found a partially smoked marijuana joint inside a cigarette pack in Brettschneider’s pocket. Police say a small baggie with a black tar substance consistent with heroin was found in the door pocket of the vehicle.



Brettschneider and his passenger, 27-year old Jamiann Azud, of Leominster, Massachuetts, were lodged in the Christian County Jail charged with 1st Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance (Heroin). Brettschneider was also charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and License to be in Possession.
