Governor Matt Bevin is calling on Kentucky to pray for Marshall County and their healing from Tuesday’s shooting at Marshall County High School that claimed two lives and left eighteen others injured. Surrounded by family members and elected officials, Governor Bevin signed a proclamation declaring Sunday, January 28th, a day of prayer in the Commonwealth.
Bevin said he is proud of the community and how they have dealt with Tuesday’s shooting that claimed the lives of Bailey Holt and Preston Cope.
The Governor said he is also proud of the example being set by the students in the wake of the tragedy.
Bevin adds he has received support from across the country and the world for the people of Marshall County.
The Governor was joined by Lieutenant Governor Janeen Hampton, Kentucky State Police Commissioner Rick Sanders and other state and local officials for the faith-based event Friday morning in Benton.
