The article says Knuckles' longtime girlfriend told police she had left him earlier in the week because the couple was having financial difficulties.
Knuckles reportedly rode a bicycle form home to the Adairville bank Thursday morning and arrived before it opened. When employees arrived a couple of minutes early they let Knuckles in because he was cold outside. Once inside the bank, the newspaper report he handed over a notebook demanding $100 bills and the keys to one of the employee's vehicles. After he received the cash and keys, he fled the bank in the employee's white Jeep Compass.
Sheriff Whittaker says the car has not been recovered.
The information on the notebook, according to the sheriff, led police to believe Knuckles was a suspect in the armed robbery.
The FBI is also helping the Logan County Sheriff's Office with the case.
