A Cadiz man charged with sexual abuse for a second time in a year was sentenced to prison by Judge C.A. Woodall Wednesday in Trigg County Circuit Court.
The attorney for 46 year-old Billy Addison made a motion to withdraw his guilty plea to charges of First Degree Sexual Abuse; Promoting a Minor in a Sexual Performance; and eight counts of Possessing Matter Portraying a Minor in a Sexual Performance. He stated that Addison felt like the mediation session held to agree to a guilty plea was slanted against him. Judge Woodall denied the motion.
Addison was charged with the crimes by Kentucky State Police in March 2016 after they received a tip that he had sent sexually explicit photos involving a female juvenile through his e-mail account. The investigation determined Addison had been charged with a similar crime by state police two months prior.
Judge Woodall sentenced Addison to 18 years in prison and ordered him to register as a child sexual offender.
