Griffin Joiner Leads UK Past #7 Alabama

Griffin Joiner had four hits to help lead Kentucky past #7 Alabama 9-5 in extra innings Sunday. The win gave UK their first ever softball series win over the Crimson Tide.

Joiner was 4-for-5 with a home run, double, two singles and a RBI. The four hits tied a career high. The Hopkinsville sophomore and former Kentucky Miss Softball from Christian County now has 10 home runs on the season.

Kentucky (38-17, 13-11) heads into Wednesday's SEC Tournament in Lexington as the #7 seed and will play #10 seed South Carolina.
