WKU Moving To Conference USA

During a media conference Monday, Western Kentucky University officially announced that it has entered into a membership agreement with Conference USA for its athletic programs beginning on July 1, 2014. The announcement was made by university President Dr. Gary Ransdell and Athletic Director Todd Stewart.

In addition to reuniting with current Sun Belt Conference members Florida International, Florida Atlantic, Middle Tennessee and North Texas, beginning in 2014-15 WKU will once again be in a conference with former Sun Belt Conference foes Charlotte, Louisiana Tech, Old Dominion and Alabama-Birmingham. Western heads to Conference USA after more than 30 years in the Sunbelt Conference.
