Scott Brown handles most of the sports duties for Ham Broadcasting. In addition to providing daily sports news on this blog, he broadcasts high school football, basketball and baseball games on WKDZ and WHVO. He also hosts the Saturday Morning Sports Report on WKDZ - one of the few local sports programs in the area. Trigg County Sweeps Union County, now 7-4

Trigg County swept a baseball doubleheader at Union County Saturday, winning 9-3 and 12-6. Skylar Pool picked up the win on the mound, striking out five in seven innings. David Wease had two doubles and a triple for Trigg, while Ben Wigand and Ean Sholar each had two hits.

In game two, Trace Kuberski got the job done on the mound (9 Ks in 6 IP) and at the plate (two hits). Nick Allen, David Wease, Ean Sholar, and Tyler each had two hits for the Wildcats, who improve to 7-4 with their third straight win. Union County, a preseason top 25 team in the state, falls to 1-3 with the loss.

Elsewhere, Hopkinsville remained winless on the season with a 10-3 loss to Muhlenberg County. The Tigers have scored just three runs in three games this season.

Lyon County lost to Ballard Memorial 8-2 Saturday, dropping to 2-3 on the season.

Madisonville crushed Livingston Central 25-3 Saturday to run their season record to 3-4. Livingston fell to 1-5 with the loss.

Dawson Springs remained winless by dropping a doubleheader to Carlisle County 21-0 and 16-7.

Another winless team is Todd County Central who fell to 0-8 with a pair of losses to Meade County and Ohio County Saturday.
