Nick Choate Finishes Ninth at PGA Junior Series Stop

Trigg County golfer Nick Choate fired bookend 74s to finish tied for ninth at the PGA Junior Series stop at Mirimichi Golf Course in Millington, Tennessee over the weekend.

Choate shot an opening round 74 with the help of an eagle-two on a 433-yard par 4 and a birdie.  However, two double bogeys hurt Choate in the second round as he shot a 79.  In the final round, Choate birdied four holes to help him to a 74.

Recently, Choate, who will be a senior at Trigg County this fall, was named a recipient of the 2013 Gay Brewer, Jr. Grant Program Scholarship, which offers financial assistance to junior golfers (ages 15-18) from Kentucky with the ability to compete in junior golf competitions at the regional and national level.
