Muhlenberg County Duo Leads After First Day of State Bass Fishing Tournament
A team from Muhlenberg County leads after the first round of the state's first High School Bass Fishing Tournament on Kentucky Lake.
Zach Warner and Ridge Porter caught five fish totaling 16 pounds and three ounces to take the day one lead by two ounces over Nathan Taylor and Terry Hager of Woodford County.
Muhlenberg's Jacob Bowles and James Hampton are tied for third place with Calloway County's Bracken Robertson and Dillon Starks at 15 pounds, 12 ounces.
Trigg County's Mason Shelton and Austin Greene are tied for 10th with a total catch of 12 pounds, 10 ounces.
Adam Fitch and Hunter Allen are in 21st place with three fish totaling seven pounds, five ounces, while teammates Shelby Johnson and Nick Summers are 22nd with seven pounds and four ounces.
Tyler Martin and Hannah Johnson of Lyon County are in 20th place.
The junior anglers had to endure rainy conditions Friday, with much of the same expected for Saturday's final round.
Weigh-ins are expected to begin at 3pm at KenLake State Park Marina.
