Kentucky Offers Scholarship to Caldwell Quarterback

The University of Kentucky has offered a scholarship to Caldwell County junior-to-be Elijah Sindelar, according to a report that will appear in Saturday's Princeton Times-Leader newspaper.

T-L Sports Editor Todd Griffin tweeted Thursday that Sindelar attended the Kentucky football camp earlier in the week and was offered a scholarship Tuesday.

Sindelar threw for a school-record 2,961 yards and 32 touchdowns in leading Caldwell County to the Class 2A state title game.

Meanwhile, ESPN is reporting that UK also offered a scholarship to Louisville seventh grader Jarius Brents at the same camp.  Brents is a cornerback and turned some heads at the camp when he intercepted three passes while competing against high schoolers.

One player who did commit to Kentucky Thursday was Stanley "Boom" Williams, the nation's top-rated all-purpose running back.  Williams is from Bethlehem, Georgia and rushed for 1,958 yards and 24 touchdowns last year as a junior.

According to the Lexington Herald-Leader, Williams is the fifth Rivals.com four-star prospect to pick Kentucky, which has now moved to No. 3 in the Rivals team rankings nationwide.
