Scott Brown handles most of the sports duties for Ham Broadcasting. In addition to providing daily sports news on this blog, he broadcasts high school football, basketball and baseball games on WKDZ and WHVO. Josh Nichols Gets 100th Win as Wildcat Soccer Coach

Trigg County's season opening 5-1 win over Fort Campbell Monday gave Trigg County head coach Josh Nichols his 100th career win at TCHS.

Ben Wigand and Troy Alexander each had two goals and an assist for the Wildcats, while Clark Adams had the other goal.

Trigg's win was just their third in 31 career meetings with the Falcons.

Nichols, in his 11th season as Wildcat head coach, has an overall record of 100-65-21 including 76-21-11 in the past six seasons.

The Wildcats return to action Aug. 27 at Caldwell County.

In other games:

  • Three different players scored goals as University Heights shut out Christian County 3-0.

  • Austin Bucko had four goals to lead Hopkinsville past Mayfield 11-1

In games scheduled for today:

  • Mayfield looks to rebound from the loss to Hopkinsville by visiting Lyon County

  • Caldwell County travels to Todd County Central

  • UHA hosts Dawson Springs
