Hoppers Hammer Marion 12-0

Trevor Lowe and Ryne Long each had two hits and two RBIs as the Hopkinsville Hoppers picked up a 12-0 road win at Marion Tuesday. The Hoppers did all of their scoring in the third, fourth, and fifth innings, taking advantage of some Marion wildness and three errors.

Lowe doubled home a run in the fourth, and Long added a two-run single in the fifth as part of the 10-hit Hopper attack. Riley Sanderson turned in another strong performance on the mound, striking out seven and allowing six hits over seven innings.  It's the second straight shutout for the Hoppers.

In other Ohio Valley League action, Madisonville beat Fulton 7-6 in 10 innings, and Owensboro handed Dubois County their second straight loss 4-3.

Madisonville remains a game ahead of Hopkinsville, Owensboro, and Dubois County in the standings.

Hopkinsville will host Marion tonight at 7:05pm.  The Chick Fil-A Tailgate Party will be tonight at 6pm on Oldies Radio 96.5 and 100.9 FM.  It’s Jennie Stuart Medical Center night and we will be collecting personal hygiene items for the Trilogy house. When you bring in deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, hairspray, bodyspray, any personal hygiene items for women you will get in for $2.00.

Elsewhere, Owensboro travels to Dubois County, and Madisonville heads to Fulton.
