Hageman Pitches Hoppers to 3-0 Win

Former Hopkinsville High pitcher Justin Hageman had been denied two other times from making his Hoppers debut because of Mother Nature.  The third time proved to be the charm as the Western Kentucky University pitcher hurled five innings to get the win as the Hoppers knocked off first place Dubois County 3-0.

Hageman allowed three hits and struck out four in his first Ohio Valley League appearance.  Former UHA pitcher Kyle Barbee and two others teamed with Hageman to allow just six hits in preserving the shutout.

Brandon Boggetto had two of Hopkinsville's six hits as the Hoppers improved to 3-3 on the season and moved to within a game of first place.

The Hoppers will now have a home-and-home series with Marion that begins tonight at Gordon Guess Field in Marion.

Hoppers manager Grayson Crawford says he uses the first month as a gauge for his pitching staff.
