Hoppers Fall to Fulton 4-0

The early season offensive woes for the Hopkinsville Hoppers continued Tuesday as they were shut out 4-0 by Fulton.  The Hoppers slip to 0-2 on the season having scored just one run in the two losses.

Garrett Ring allowed five hits and struck out seven over seven innings to get the win for the Railroaders (1-2). Matt McGowan and Kyle Barbee had two of Hopkinsville's five hits.

Former Christian County Colonel Cole Isom allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits, striking out seven and walking two in 4 2/3 innings in taking the loss.

If there was a bright spot for the Hoppers in the home opener, it was the announced attendance of 420 that is the largest total thus far in the OVL in the young season.

Hopkinsville returns the visit to Fulton for a game today.

Elsewhere, Dubois County improved to 3-0 with an 8-6 win over Marion (0-2) in 10 innings.
Madisonville handed Owensboro their first loss 8-3 and stays a half game behind Dubois County for first place in the OVL.

Today, Marion visits Dubois County and Owensboro pays a visit to Madisonville.
