Scott Brown handles most of the sports duties for Ham Broadcasting. In addition to providing daily sports news on this blog, he broadcasts high school football, basketball and baseball games on WKDZ and WHVO. He also hosts the Saturday Morning Sports Report on WKDZ - one of the few local sports programs in the area. Trigg Baseball Team Wins 5th Straight

Trigg County downed Stewart County 5-1 Thursday for their fifth straight win and moved their season record to 9-4 in the process. Freshman Tyler Allen struck out five batters in five innings to get the win, while Caleb McIntosh closed out the game with four strikeouts in two innings of work.

Dillon Dawson led the eight-hit attack with two hits and two RBIs. The five-game winning streak by Trigg equals their longest from last year. Trigg County will host Dawson Springs today at 5:30 at the Complex.

In other Thursday games:
  • Madisonville held off a late Christian County rally by downing the Colonels 9-8.
  • Henderson County had only one hit but it was enough to down Hopkinsville 2-0
  • Heath edged Livingston Central 5-4
  • Union County beat Crittenden County 5-1
Games scheduled for Friday include:
  • Todd County Central will play UHA and Stewart County in the Falcon Classic at Fort Campbell
  • Christian County looks to snap a two-game losing streak when they visit Logan County
  • Lyon County hosts Crittenden County
  • Caldwell County travels to Madisonville for a 7th District matchup
