Amy Breckel Resigns as Trigg County Girls Basketball Coach

Amy Breckel has resigned as girls’ basketball coach at Trigg County.

Breckel coached nine seasons at Trigg County – the longest tenure of any coach.  Her record was 61-173. The 2012-13 team struggled to a 1-24 record – setting records for fewest wins and most losses in a season.

The 2009 team went 10-16 and became the first four seed to win the Fifth District Tournament, upsetting Crittenden County in overtime for the title at Wildcat Gym.

While at Trigg County, Breckel coached five players – Laquisha Boyd, Audrey Futrell, Janada Acree, Felicia Crenshaw, and Ashley Matlock – who went on to play college basketball.

Trigg County Athletic Director Marty Jaggers said the search for a new coach would begin immediately.
