Greenwood Football Coach Heading South of the Border

Greenwood football coach Greg Cavanah is becoming part of the popular trend of Kentucky coaches heading south to coach in Tennessee. Cavanah was 19-14 in his three years at Greenwood, including a 2-0 record against Hopkinsville in Trigg County's bowl game.

The Bowling Green Daily News said Cavanah was leaving to take the defensive coordinator's job at Portland, Tenn. High School. Cavanah, a former Christian County assistant coach, was on the coaching staff at Greenwood as either an assistant or head coach for the past 12 years.  Greenwood was 8-3 last year and lost to Christian County in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs.
