A new Trigg County boys basketball coach could be named as early as this week.
Sources tell the Sports Edge that interviews were recently completed and that a new coach is expected to be named within days.
Among the people interviewed for the position were Hopkinsville assistant coach Peyton Croft, Lone Oak head coach Andy Poore, and Trigg County assistant coach Rex Booth. Sources tell the News Edge that Croft and Booth are considered to be the finalists for the job that became open when Mike Wright retired at the end of the season.
The new coach will inherit two starters from last year's 20-9 team that won the Fifth District Tournament and lost to Henderson County in the Second Region semifinals.
