Andrews Named To Hornung Watch List

WKU senior running back Antonio Andrews has been named to the preseason watch list for the 2013 Paul Hornung Award, presented by Texas Roadhouse. Andrews was one of four finalists for the award in 2012. Andrews led WKU in all-purpose yards, rushing yards, touchdowns, scoring, kick return yards, punt return yards, and carries in 2012.

His 3,161 all-purpose yards were the most in school history and the second-highest total ever behind 1988 Heisman Trophy winner Barry Sanders. Andrews and Sanders are the only two players in NCAA history to eclipse 3,000 all-purpose yards in a single season.

WKU has now had a player named to the preseason watch list for the award in each of the four years since the award began in 2010. Former WKU running back and Super Bowl Champion Bobby Rainey earned the honor in 2010 and 2011 while Andrews also earned the preseason nod in 2012. Created by the Louisville Sports Commission in 2010, the Paul Hornung Award presented by Texas Roadhouse is given annually to the most versatile player in major college football.
