Kentucky State Penitentiary is on lockdown after two correctional officers were assaulted. Kentucky Department of Corrections spokeswoman Lisa Lamb says the officers were assaulted Wednesday morning by three inmates at the prison in Eddyville. She notes the facility has been placed on lockdown for the safety and security of staff and inmates. She adds the incident command center was activated.
According to Lamb, Kentucky State Police are investigating the incident.
